You'll want to book your bridal session for after your final dress fitting but with plenty of time for turnaround. 2 months before your wedding day is perfect! Let your dress designer know that your final fitting will need to be done by then. Call or write after your 2nd photography payment clears to set that up. Bridal sessions are done Monday-Thursday, leaving weekends for weddings.
If you book an indoor location, mid-day is perfect for lighting. Think light, bright and airy for your indoor space if at all possible! If booking an outdoor location, 2 hours before sunset is perfect for lighting.
1. Order Your Bouquet - Most florists in the south are very familiar with this. Think of it as a trial run for your wedding bouquet so you can tweak things if they're aren't exactly what you had envisioned.
2. Schedule Hair/Makeup - Again, this is a great excuse for a trial run for the wedding day! OR, you could do something a little more fun, like wear your hair down or in braids to mix it up! I'd suggest keeping the makeup similar so you can see it in pictures before your wedding day.
3. Book Your Venue - Most bridal locations require notice and a deposit. If you need recommendations, the next section will be of some help!
If you are worried about your wedding dress hitting the ground during your session, you're welcome to purchase a sheet that is the same color as the dress. We'll lay it down on the ground for you, especially if you sit down somewhere. Your dress is made to be worn, though, and sometimes that sheet can stifle creativity and movement, so go into your shoot knowing that the underside of your dress will get slightly dusty. We'll take great care to make sure nothing on the outside gets dirty, but it's also a great idea to have a dry cleaning service available just in case. Just one more reason we book the session 2 months before the wedding day.
An even better option for dress care is to bring one person you love to carry your train around for you!
Please allow 2 weeks for any print orders to arrive at your door. This is one of the main reasons we schedule bridal sessions 2 months before the wedding day.
All prints are heirloom quality with a double lifetime warranty against fading and scratching. Prints larger than 11x14 are backed with a foam core for proper framing without warping. Fine are matte options available on request.
We do not offer framing for bridal portraits, simply because we have not found a trusted wholesaler that offers a quality, yet affordable price for our clients. It will save you hundreds of dollars to get your images framed yourself. If you'd like suggestions on where to take your image to be framed, please contact Rachel directly.

Great indoor option with a courtyard and side porches. In downtown, so option to walk around a bit.
